Venture into a mall and one will be able to find a variety of stores. Candle stores, and electronics stores, and bookstores, and then there is the food court where a person can find a variety of cholesterol packed and heart attack inducing foods. Even though those things are important, minus the candle store (face it, no one cares about putrid candles except older women), most people only really care about buying clothes and the latest fashion accessories. Estra sat slumped with her head in her hair. Her hair was hanging in coils, almost like tendrils around her neck. She was exhausted. She had spent hours wandering in and out of alley ways and from shop to shop. The distinctive memories she had of smaller, more quaint speciality shops were lost in a combustion of shopping malls and explosion of posters and billboards.
‘Have you seen this lady, she is my mother- her name is Layla Waters?’
She had said to shop keepers while pressing a faded and worn photo of her mother into their hand. The photograph was at least ten years old and showed a smiling shy mousy brown
